"Streaming is currently limited" message
If you see a message that "Kanopy streaming is currently limited at my library," there are a few possible causes.
For public library patrons
You're likely seeing this message because your library has set a monthly budget on Kanopy to ensure long-term access for patrons. Once the monthly budget is used, patrons will no longer be able to stream films until the library's budget resets the following month.
Your unused play credits will not roll over into the next month when your library's Kanopy service resumes. Play credits reset to your library's monthly allowance at the beginning of each month.
For university or college library patrons
You're likely seeing this message because your library has chosen to limit the film collection available on Kanopy at this time. This may be due to school breaks between semesters, budget constraints, or other considerations which allow your library to prioritize access to its most-needed films.
If streaming isn't limited by your university but you can no longer access a film that used to be available, you can request that your library make this film available again. Click Request Access at the bottom of the film's title card and complete the form with as much detail as possible to help library staff understand your need.
