Entering a PIN or password with your library card

If you're being asked to enter a PIN or password with a library card when you weren't prompted for one before, your library updated their authentication system. You'll need to enter your library card number and PIN or password when adding this library to Kanopy or reactivating this library membership.

Your PIN or password is set and managed by your library. They often make your initial PIN the last four digits of your phone number. For help with your library card, PIN, or password, please contact your library directly.

Adding or updating a PIN or password

On the Kanopy website, you can proactively update or add your library PIN or password.

  1. Log in to your Kanopy account from a web or mobile browser.
  2. Go to My Account and select My Libraries.
  3. Select then Edit on the library you want to update.
  4. Enter your library card number and PIN or password, then select Save.
