Entering a PIN or password with your library card

Note: This article is for patrons who use Kanopy with a public library.

Both a library card number and PIN or password are required to access a library in Kanopy. You need to enter your library card number and PIN or password when adding a library to Kanopy or reactivating a library membership.

Your PIN or password is set and managed by your library. Some libraries make your initial PIN the last four digits of your phone number. For help with your library card, PIN, or password, please contact your library directly.

Adding or updating a PIN or password

On the Kanopy website, you can proactively update or add your library PIN or password.

1. Log in to your Kanopy account from a web or mobile browser.
2. Go to My Account and select My Libraries.
3. Select then Edit on the library you want to update.
4. Enter your library card number and PIN or password, then select Save.
