Getting started with Kanopy for academic users

If you access Kanopy through an academic institution, you don't need to create a Kanopy account to watch films. Your steps to access Kanopy can vary based on if you're on campus and how you arrive at Kanopy's website. To get started:

1. Go to kanopy.com.
2. Select Get started.
   
3. Select Find your university.
   
4. Enter your university or college name and select it from the list.
   
5. Complete any additional prompts. These vary by institution.

Creating a Kanopy account

Optionally, you can create a Kanopy account to access these additional features:

• Continue Watching
• Watchlist
• Mobile and TV apps
• Create custom playlists
• Add additional libraries

To create an account:

1. Go to your institution's Kanopy homepage.
2. Select the account menu in the top-right corner, then select Create an account.
   
3. Enter your name, email address, and a password, then click Sign up. Or, sign up with an existing Apple or Google account.
