Getting started with Kanopy for academic users
Note: Academic users are no longer prompted to create a Kanopy account when accessing Kanopy from a browser. Academic users can browse their institution's Kanopy collection, watch films, and view playlists in their browser without creating a Kanopy account.
Your steps to access Kanopy through an academic institution may differ depending on if you're on campus and how you arrive at Kanopy's website. To get started:
Following a link to a film
- Below the film's cover image, select Watch now.
- Select Log in to [University].
- Enter your university credentials (if prompted).
Following a link to a playlist
- Select Log in to [University].
- Enter your university credentials (if prompted).
From your university's Kanopy landing page
- Select Visit the [University] collection.
- Select Log in to [University] (if prompted).
- Enter your university credentials (if prompted).
From kanopy.com
- Select Get started.
- Select Find your university.
- Enter your university or college name and select it from the list.
- Select Log in to [University] (if prompted).
- Enter your university credentials (if prompted).
For access to more features, create a Kanopy account.
